'In this account of her teaching practice over the course of her career, Chris sets out a compelling case for helping children to become more proficient in classroom dialogue.

She shows how teaching literacy through dialogue not only enhances children’s written work, but also how dialogue is a vital component of learning across the curriculum, resulting in more productive group work and greater access to subject content.'

Animal stories

Children's books

Chris writes stories with animal characters - straight from a bush backyard. She never tires of observing their behaviours and how they communicate. Their antics may surprise you!

Just like the story about mischievous little possum, her family and animal friends who search for a new home.

Come on adventures with this adorable little possum as she navigates life in the Australian bush & suburbia.

Education Manuscripts

Assisting young students to get a good start with formal schooling is a priority for me.

A series of three manuscripts I'm working on will achieve that: For the 5-6 year olds:   the 7-9 year olds and the 10 - 14 year olds.

A further manuscript to cover the older teenager moving into adulthood is also in the pipeline.

All TES resources reflect current research, are evidence-based, demonstrate good practice and encourage teachers to gather evidence from learning activities to further inform their planning and programming.
